Have you felt something crawl down your shirt or buzz in loudly in your hair yet? then that’s probably a lively Christmas beetle!! They are speckled with many different colours or dots –about 15 - 40 mm in size and we have over 3000 species in Australia.

But your beautiful little green beetle is not one. I think maybe it’s a green carab beetle, they have a brilliant metallic like green colour and are quite stunning, very beautiful. Hard to see from the photo ? Bush Fires worrying for Tassie at the moment !

Best wishes

We heard on our news last night about the fires over there. There are crews from B.C. fighting them. They are considered experts on forest fires. God knows we have had our share.

I ran into Eliza at the rink yesterday. I would have never recognized her kids. Callem is getting to be very BIG!! He plays in the same division(hockey) as my guy. She says she misses you like crazy!!

Dianne and I are going for the annual sushi Christmas meal next week. It will be very lonely without you. We will have a drink in your honor buddy!!!

What a beautiful color! I was thinking it's not big enough to be a Christmas beetle...they're big, fat, and clumsy and I think a darker iridescent green, if I remember rightly. It's been years since I've seen one.
I just read Lindsaylobe's comment, which brings back memories of them getting tangled in my hair or clothing at night as they flew towards the light of an open door.
He sure is a mine of information!
