Delights in Spring

Sunday we took a leisurely drive into the countryside. We had no real destination in mind. This mindless drive continued until Sorrell. Twenty min. East of Hobart city we discovered the Sorrell Fruit Farm. My favorite...U-Pick-Strawberries were the hightlight.

We enjoyed a afternoon cappachino on the rose covered patio then ventured off through the fruit fields to pick some delicious vine-rippened strawberries. These are the first treats of spring. We will be back for further fruit pickings. Lots of Yummy fun! Posted by Picasa

Lovely photos, Wendy. Glad you enjoyed picking the strawberries, but I bet you enjoyed eating them even more.

Pretty place Sorrell, right on the water there.

I hope this foul weather and the hail haven't ruined the soft and stone fruit. I hang out each year for the first Pawleena or Orford cherries, trying really hard to avoid those awful supermarket ones, but red fruit are just plain addictive.
Strawbs, raspberries, cherries yum yum yum
beaut photos..

I envy your Spring. We have had such a miserable November after such a great October. We have had one wind/rain storm after another. The highway is closed from Sayward north due to mudslides. Trees are down everywhere and the ferries are hardly running at all. Massive flooding all up and down the island. Crazy weather. Record breaking rainfall.

Hi Wendy
My first reaction is to say I prefer the cappuccino on the rose covered patio to actually picking the fruit, but then I saw pictures of your industrious son and gorgeous daughter both doing the honours, now that’s brilliant!!
Strawerries always taste better when you’re picked the yourself don’t they!! And your children will remember those days. I recall vividly in Ballina in NSW, about the same age as your son picking ripe strawberries. ! The photos have beautiful colours!!!

I trust you have better luck in the Hobart Cup next year in Tassie but it’s going to be sensational with over 2 million in prizemoney for the Jan/Feb Carnival with a much larger contingent this year of interstate trainers and horses!!

Best wishes

Oh, roses and strawberries, food for the eyes and mouth. Thanks for the breath of spring - we're out of colored leaves here, and it's probably a month or more until the snow starts, so things are a bit dreary.

Thanks also for the blogroll link :)

Happy, happy spring!! I love this frame filled with flowers. Sounds like a glorious day, and there's nothing tastier than fresh picked berries.
