The day the first yacht finished the Rolex Sydney to Hobart race The Taste of Tasmania Festival was beginning. The waterfront is decorated with flags, banners, carnival booths, food stalls, and in the Tasmanian tradition..wine tasting/sales stalls. It extends all the way to Salamanca Place. Anyone comming to visit Tasmania, this is the week!

North American Family on the an adventure of a lifetime. We moved from BC Canada to Tasmania six years ago with two kids and hubby who worked in the salmon farming industry. We have loved every moment but our nomadic tendencies have called. We are going bush. Inside are the adventures of our year caravaning around Australia. We want to see it all!

It may be the week to visit Tasmania but not if you are relying on being able to book last-minute accommodation. Russ and Shannon wanted to spend a few days there but were told everything was booked out. So they headed north instead. I'd certainly rather be in Tassie where it's cooler.

We are having such a great time. The Taste of Tassie is great fun. Not sure we are going home anytime soon...unless the salmon stop swimming.
