Oh! What a cute! I am very enchanted with this lovely moment!
Great photo Wendy!
Great pictures of the famous Tassie Devil, the yacht race and your daughter with the Joey.
Although Kangaroos are in abundant quantities, meeting up with one is always a fascinating experience, especially for your daughter to see a Joey in the pouch.
The males can stand taller than a man and weighing in at about 85Kgs are the largest marsupial in the world to day.
Did you know a male kangaroo is called a Boomer, a female a Flyer and course you have picture of baby Joey.
When the white settlers first saw them he asked the aboriginals present what they were called. The aborigines replied “Kangaroo” which in their language meant they did not understand the question.
Henceforth they were called Kangaroos, from a misunderstanding that this was the name given to them by the Aborigines.
There are 40 species, the biggest being big red. The Emus and Kangaroo were selected as symbols of Australia because they are always moving forward, never backwards.
