Goodby Croc Hunter

Steve Irwin otherwise know as The Crocadile Hunter dies while snokeling the coast of Port Douglas ,Queensland. He was only 44 years old. Appearently he was stung by a sting ray in the chest. Hummmmm. I didn't know that stingrays were so dangerous. Poor family. He left behind two children and wife. He will be missed. My kids loved the show.

Truly a wonderful man, husband and dad. I loved his show too. I understand the barb punctured his heart is why he died. He died doing something he loved. He will be missed by everyone.

I'll miss him, too. He did so much for animal conservation concerns, and I hope his wife can carry on that mission.

I posted a bit about him on my blog too. I was going to say that sting rays aren't usually dangerous, but you clarified that. I know from scuba diving for many, many years, that to be hit by a ray is rare, and to be hit in the heart would be a freak accident. I've swum over them, under them, touched them, fed them and they are extremely docile. Steve's passing is so sad, and he was one of a kind.
