Back in Action

Well I am tan and relaxed after a three week trip to California. We went to a camp in California's Sierra Nevada mountain range. Here is a pic of my 7 yr old learning to water ski. It has come a long way since the days when I learned how to water ski. We had to use a rope. The bar seen here makes it much easier to get up. How cool is that??? Posted by Picasa

I understand boats to day are equipped with that initiation-bar, originally designed for barefooted skiing, but now used universally for those beginning. Skiing with that bar as you say I guess is much easier than with a rope and also allows for communication by the instructors. They can correct any possible errors but with a mom who used to do stunts, your daughter probably has a "natural" talent ! Wonderful photo and welcome back to Tassie.

Best wishes

Sandy,
Mr C couldn't pass the lake swim test. He still too young...but next year.

FYI the ski instructor was a canuck from Onterio hoping to move back to BC. The boat driver was a Aussie from Perth.

Welcome back. Missed you and can't wait to see some of your pics. Hope you had a great time with your family, as I'm sure you did.

Yes, waterskiing has come along way since I started. This looks way easier and gets their confidence up.

Probably most didn't ski back then, as it was too frustrating to get up.

Look forward to more of your pics.

take care

Welcome back, kiddo!

I've seen those bars for people learning how to water ski. Sort of like the guards they put in the bowling alley gutters now for kids. I could have used those when I learnt how to ski and bowl.

I can just imagine your daughter's thrill.
