Silly

Once again the Tas. Ed. department is performing the school kids info update. This form was sent home for me to review varifying correct information about my school child. Last year when filling out the form I ticked the box stating ENGLISH ONLY was spoken at home. When it was returned to me someone had unticked the box and written in AMERICAN. So this year just for fun I decided to add CANADIAN as a language spoken at home. I can't wait to see what the reply will be. Posted by Picasa

How insulting and meddlesome! Wendy, I think you should have written in some really obscure language, such as Albanian, or Klingon!

I agree with Val, but then I also think Canada has more in common with Australia than the USA; Canada has the same legal, political and population densities, one concentrated close to the border, whilst in Australia it's along the eastern seaboard. Even the same reliance to some extent upon natural resources. Although I think your Teachers are paid much better in Canada !

We speak the same Canadian language, no need for a distinction,.....but the USA ....why that different I think !

Best wishes

If Canadian and American are now languages distinct from English, surely Australian should also be recognized as a unique language.
