HAPPY ANZAC DAY

I could have posted a flag or something more meaningful but these cookies are really good. Posted by Picasa

Agreed. I think you've just inspired me to go bake some - what else to do on Anzac Day? I would have gone to the dawn service but, you know, it was AT DAWN. I went for a run a few hours later instead.

About the frog I posted - I don't know how it got in. And I actually asked it that same question while I was pondering on how to get it out. I don't know what it is about my place - snakes, geckoes, frogs - reptiles just love it!!

Yair, and easy to make too. I was going to make some anzac biscuits, but had only molasses instead of golden syrup - I resisted the temptation to try the substitute! Made other biscuits (well ok, COOKIES!) instead. Used up some of the amaretto (almond liquor) I bought for another recipe at Christmas

Val- Bisquit?cookies? Your sounding very Aussie. I can't find molasses here only Trecle. I get alot of blank stares from store personel when I ask for it. I am pretty sure I'd drink the Amaretto...better yet....dip the cookies. Ymmmmmmy!

I love your photos Wendy. It's nice to be reminded of ANZAC Day while I'm far away. Our Memorial Day (May 31st) and Fourth of July celebrations usually choke me up too. I love singing the patriotic songs and remembering the brave men and women who fought (are fighting) for their respective countries. Without their sacrifice it would be a different world! Love those cookies!!
