Cool!
Kookaburras are the jolliest birds. When they start their laughing I can't help but get a smile on my face.
Most people reading this will be too young to remember, but in the 50s there was a TV program called "Ramar of the Jungle". It was filmed totally inside a studio, fake as, but the funny thing is, I could swear part of the audio was of kookaburras laughing. Can anyone confirm that?
So beautiful these Kookaburra birds. How lucky you are to have these lovely creature near your house!
And thank you so much, Wendy, for your compliment about my trees! I love so much your visiting!
I LOVE KOOKABURRAS!!! This pair looks like they are up something.
Oh, thanks for the wonderful kooka pic! Aren't they just gorgeous? I love hearing them laugh and miss it so much. Alice (sweet Alice :) sent me a package of audio cassettes that she recorded with music, Banjo Paterson poems and a whole tape of Aussie bird calls...which begins with the kookas laughing. Can you imagine what a treat it is listening to that? My hubby and I sat last night listening and just smiling (remembering). It takes us right back there to Oz.
Your picture is the icing on the cake :) Thanks!
Wendy just got the little items for the children in the mail today, sorry I am later than I plan. Have a great weekend!
Great photos of Australian icons.
Val ...I thought the TV series was in 61-62 with a Kookaburra laughing in the background but maybe a repeat ? or am I confused !!
best wishes
If anyone would like to hear what kookaburras sound like, there's an audiofile at this site.
Wendy - to quote the current tourism advertising - "WHERE THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU?"
Thank you for posting pictures of the kookaburras.
