A Near Perfect Day

Today was warm with occasional clouds. It was an unhurried morning. Kid 1 was dropped off at school. Kid 2 went on to play school for three long hours!! The alone moments are so far and few over the past 6 months that I appreciate solitude more then ever.
I went for my run through Peter Merell Park. It is a four mile run through the gum trees. The trail is private except for a few dog walkers and birders. It lead you by two platypus ponds with a migrant white swan population. They are beautiful in the way there reflections show off of the flawlessly smooth waters. I could hear my breath, the distant black cockatoos, and the distict laugh of the Kookaburra. The wind was gentle. It was an amazing run. I never even hit that typical wall at mile three. If I could have that same piece of solitude everyday life would be very near perfect.
Casey greeted me with a big bear hug all smiles. Chicken noodle soup was for lunch. Yummy! I found $20. In the crack of my car seat. After Judy came home from school the kids played quietly without a fight. That is a first in a long time. Salmon for dinner. Early bed and book. Now.....what are the chances that when Mark comes home early from work with flowers then continued on to place his jacket on the hanger..In the closet instead of on the back of the couch. Perfection seem highly unlikely.

Sounds pretty close though! I do hope you bring Ruby on your runs. If you don't...just say you do or else I will worry about you. What is the crime like there anyways?

It is a pretty safe feeling place where I run. There are definently people in screaming distance. It isn's as isolated as the canyon view trail. Ruby usally doesn't go. Running distance isn't recomended until she is 18mth because of joint problems.

What would happen if you moved the couch for a few days? Would the jacket just hit the floor? We don't have a couch here yet and the floor is used somewhat like an open closet.

An excellent suggestion. I never thought of moving the couch. However the couch is brand new and I really like it soo.... I think I'll start doing a star chart for him. It works for the kids.
